The Chief of Staff, in partnership with the leadership team, will be expected to manage and drive our rhythm of business (ROB), leading various organizational, business operational and culture initiatives, and driving special projects.

The role will require working across Gaming and Microsoft with various stakeholders to drive or help facilitate key initiatives. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, organizationally savvy, and willing to be hands-on to make positive changes across the studio.

Additionally, we’re looking for someone with a track record and strong skills in culture building, business operations, communications, relationship management, and internal stakeholder management. This role calls for a balance of leadership and influence skills across the senior leaders within the team coupled with an ability to anticipate and respond quickly as new opportunities and situations arise.

Operational Effectiveness

The CoS drives organization processes and agendas, including providing timely planning and preparation for key meetings, and publishing and maintaining a predictable rhythm of the business (ROB). They will proactively develop and support a holistic view of organizational priorities to create clarity and align the organization on the key outcomes we want to achieve.

The CoS will identify opportunities and gaps and participate as a valued LT member offering operational and cultural perspectives for relevant decisions. They will maximize the effectiveness of executive studio leadership by helping balance priorities, communicate effectively, participate in the most relevant meetings, and connect with the team.

Team Development & Culture

In partnership with HR and the leadership team, the CoS will help lead the people agenda and team health initiatives, with particular focus on developing increased diversity, inclusion, and belonging.

In addition, they will work with teams to further develop the culture of learning and experimentation across the organization. We want to lead and foster a culture where people feel great about working at The Initiative - where we support inclusion, generate energy, and build community, cohesion, and collaboration.

Business and Recruiting Process

The CoS will work with The Initiative Business Operations team and SLT members to lead and coordinate the organizational rhythm of the business (ROB) to improve processes to run the studio efficiently. Additionally, the CoS will be a key partner with the recruiting teams and manage the process of internal recruiting and interviews to meet hiring requirements and staffing plans.
