The Chief of Staff (CoS) will have a front row seat driving and impacting the growth of Novo. You will report to the CEO and be heavily involved in all aspects of the business, including strategy and business planning, sales, project development, and financing. This role is designed to provide in-depth executive management training and build a 360° view of the business. This role requires a willingness to do whatever it takes to achieve company success. Analytical acumen, a solutions-oriented attitude and strong self-motivation are musts. For the right person, this role will be extremely rewarding and accelerate their career growth. They will play an integral role in the growth and success of Novo.
This position is ideally based in the Denver metro area and is expected to work in a hybrid remote/in office manner with occasional business travel required. In other words, outside of travel requirements, the position will be in office (Golden, CO) 1-2 days per week with the remainder work from home. Remote location is acceptable. This position reports to the CEO.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Thought leader to the CEO on all aspects of business growth and development
- Partner with the company leadership on defining / structuring and communicating the corporate strategy and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)
- Lead and support initiatives within the 3 core business functions at Novo (Commercial, Development, Finance), driven by business priorities and emerging needs. These can include:
- Market research and strategy creation for target end-use renewable hydrogen customers
- Project economics and pricing using the Novo pricing model
- Real estate strategy, and lead generation for renewable hydrogen/generation project development sites
- Commercial due diligence of growth opportunities and potential partnerships
- Special projects as determined by the CEO
- Support the CEO on interfacing and communicating with the company Board on a recurring basis
- Support on-boarding and build out of the Novo team
- Build and manage internal processes to enhance company efficiency and communication

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Project development experience, preferably in the energy space
- Comfort with multi-tasking and owning a variety of tasks across different functions of the company
- Excellent communication skills in both oral and written English
- Ability to effectively operate with high energy and flexibility in a fast-paced, constantly evolving team environment
- Creativity and critical thinking skills to address complex challenges
- Self-motivated with strong blue collar work ethic with the ability to proactively manage diverse relationships and multiple projects simultaneously
