Job Description:

The Chief of Staff serves as a right-hand partner and advisor to the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The Chief of Staff plans and directs administrative, financial, and operational activities for the CEO and broader team. It is a unique role with a wide array of strategic and tactical responsibilities. The position acts as a point of contact to officers and senior leaders throughout the organization. This leader is expected to work very closely with executive management to ensure accountability, execution, and delivery of critical organizational objectives.

The Chief of Staff is the lead driver of cross functional initiatives, organization wide programs, and change management throughout ETS. The role partners with internal stakeholders to identify and prioritize impact, as well as implement innovative and valuable solutions. The Chief of Staff reports directly to the CEO and supports a highly effective Office of the President (OOP) through improved processes, tools, and systems.


  • Act as a liaison and gatekeeper between CEO and ETSs executives and other stakeholders to ensure consistent communication, involvement, and efficient decision making
  • Manage critical tasks, interpret leadership needs, project management, prioritize tasks, offer solutions, and develop action plans
  • Drive framework and process around quarterly, annual, and long-term strategic business planning
  • Develop goals to support broad functional objectives and organizational growth
  • Implement strategic initiative framework that establishes ownership, operational metrics, and deliverables, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and business analytic capabilities
  • Manage the companys Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and Annual Planning processes to ensure alignment and accountability around strategic goals
  • Utilize data to produce trends and insights that drive business results
  • Drive transparency by making data and reporting easily available
  • Ensure strategic alignment and enablement through key leadership meetings
  • Actively support CEO in meetings and guide participants to actionable items to ensure timely completion of projects, follow up, and execution
  • Create consistent and systematic processes for meetings to allow for the best use of time
  • Work with OOP to set priorities and lead the preparation process for any Board related materials, ETS Town Halls or All Hands, Business Review Meetings, etc.
  • Work with leaders to set agendas, create content, and build visually appealing slide decks to support key messaging to both internal and external audiences; translate leadership vision and strategy in visualizations and presentations
  • Partner directly with Internal Communications and Public and Government Relations teams to strategize effective internal and external executive communications and speaking engagements for CEO
  • Implement procedures to improve company knowledge sharing and documentation
  • Continuously improve upon team processes, practices, and systems to improve effectiveness and efficiency
  • Adhere to ethical standards and comply with the laws and regulations applicable to the job function

Required Experience:

Education, Certifications, or Special Licenses:

  • Bachelors degree in a related field required or equivalent combination of training and work experience
  • MBA, masters or advanced degree preferred

Relevant Years of Experience Required:

  • 2-5+ years broad business and project management experience driving execution and adoption of strategic programs
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced and high-demand environment
  • Proven creative thinker with strong business acuity and ability to champion new ideas that contribute to organizational success

  • Analytical Skills - Must be data driven and utilize key metrics to provide insightful recommendations and improve results
