myPlace Health was founded in 2021 by mission-driven healthcare leaders and organizations that are committed to drastically improving health outcomes, quality and experience for vulnerable older adults and frail seniors. We are an integrated care delivery organization that specializes in providing personalized care and coverage to older adults who wish to remain safely living in their homes and communities for as long as possible, rather than living in a nursing facility.

Our mission is simple: to enable seniors to live the independent lives they deserve. The primary ways in which we pursue our mission are through capitated arrangements with government payers, such as Medicare and Medicaid under the PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) model, and as a value-based provider working in partnership with local health plans.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a mission-driven, entrepreneurial healthcare leader to support the CEO and senior leadership team as we redefine the way older adults experience care as they age. The Chief of Staff brings a track record of rapidly increasing responsibility in a VC or PE firm or top tier management consulting firm and seeks to transition into an operating role in mission-focused, high growth startup. Reporting to the CEO, this accountable leader will drive a wide range of responsibilities, manage cross-functional projects, oversee strategic staffing and budget issues, lead high-impact decisions, and steer leadership team initiatives. The Chief of Staff will drive prioritization of activities and discussion, and coach other accountable leaders on how best to follow through on their commitments. This leader will elevate the play of those around them with first principles thinking, excellent communication skills, high EQ, and deep commitment to our mission.

Expectations for this Role

• Extend the CEO and leadership team, acting on their behalf to facilitate strategic decisions, lead cross-functional projects and initiatives, ensure action items are executed, and track progress towards goals
• Guide decisions and actions in ways that prioritize outstanding delivery of quality, health outcomes, experience, efficiency, and financial performance
• Facilitate prioritization of meetings and calendars with the CEO and leadership team to ensure time is optimized and focused on the highest value topics
• Facilitate the development of leadership team and board materials that are organized, thoughtful, and focused on the highest priority topics; prepare summary materials and takeaways designed for broader company-wide visibility
• Identify emerging areas of potential misalignment, miscommunication, or underperformance that require leadership team attention
• Represent the CEO and leadership team with key external audiences (e.g., strategic sponsors, network partners, community partners, others) as needed
• Support corporate strategy and partnership development efforts as needed
• Lead recruitment of selected leadership team hires
• Consistently drive sound decisions, deliver outcomes with little oversight, and demonstrate good business judgement when faced with ambiguity
• Create clarity and structure for the team where there is none
• Prepare and present clear, concise, and relevant information that advances the dialogue and enables strong business decisions

Attributes of an Ideal Candidate

• Passion and mission orientation for serving high-risk seniors and frail older adults
• Thrives in a relatively undefined, “zero to one” environment and unafraid to “roll up your sleeves” in a wide-ranging set of topics, projects, and deliverables
• Impeccable oral and written communicator
• Preferred 7+ years of related professional experience in VC firm, PE firm or top tier management consulting firm
• Exceptional at juggling competing priorities, particularly across mission-critical, cross-functional, complex initiatives
• Deep understanding of the business models, fundamentals, and economics of other leading integrated care delivery organizations and “payvidor” models
• Strong understanding of the intersection between health plans and healthcare providers, with an emphasis on government programs (i.e., PACE, Medicare Advantage, and Medicaid managed care)
• Education concentration in a related field (e.g., health care management, business, and policy – MBA, MHA/MPH/MS)
• Expert proficiency in MS Office suite

Location

• Preference for New York City area or Los Angeles with relocation benefits available if willing to reside in one of those markets
• Remote with ability to travel 20%-80% based on business need
