Overview:

This is going to be a little unorthodox because we haven’t decided on a title – I know, it’s not normal. It is most closely related to a Chief of Staff but there are only 30 employees in the company and the President is the only C-level executive; so you won’t be getting a Chief of Staff title! You will have a Director level title and will be part of a 4 person management team and we think that the right person won’t care about the title and will be more excited about the duties and the growth.

Our client is an industrial distributor that has been in business for 50+ years and they have a great reputation in the industry, dedicated and loyal customers, and long term employees BUT a lot of things have NEVER been changed or updated. And that’s why this is a great opportunity for the right person.

They are now owned by a PE firm that is looking to professionalize, standardize, and upgrade how they do things. You will take ownership over a lot of projects such as creating better reporting, developing a lead process, writing job descriptions, implementing performance plans, doing an inventory analysis to get rid of old equipment and free up space, finding a new building to move into for 2025, and more as you dig in.

You don’t have to have experience doing all of these things, but you have to have led large strategic initiatives/projects. If you are a strategic thinker with exceptional organizational and communication skills, and want to usher in our Client’s second phase, then we want to hear from you.

You will need to be onsite to perform this job but there is flexibility to come in late to miss traffic. And after getting up to speed you will have the option to work remotely 1-2 days/week.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a strategic partner to the President, providing high-level support and helping to manage day-to-day operations.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute key initiatives and projects.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration and communication across different departments.
  • Analyze and present data to support decision-making processes.
  • Serve as a liaison between the management team and other staff members.
  • Anticipate challenges and proactively address issues to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience leading AND completing large-scale projects.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
  • Must be great at planning and documenting policies, procedures, processes, etc.
  • Strong preferred that you come from distribution, manufacturing, or industrial companies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree
