Chief of Staff

The Chief of Staff, reporting directly to Alma’s CEO, will lead the strategic planning process across the organization. This role’s primary responsibility is designing and refining the strategic planning process and working across the leadership team to ensure successful execution of the plan. This individual will own reporting against goal achievement and coordinating reviews of at risk areas, as necessary. Additionally, this individual may be asked to lead the execution of key initiatives beyond strategic planning in support of the CEO, including creation of board materials and content for leadership meetings.

The ideal candidate is someone who combines strong analytical, communication and organizational skills with business acumen, collaborative problem solving and project management. This candidate is a self-starter who is comfortable navigating ambiguity and confident in making data-backed proposals for improvement.

What you’ll do:

  • Design, refine and lead the strategic planning process for Alma.
  • Work with the leadership team and department leaders to execute on the strategic planning process.
  • Report on progress, prepare board material, and ensure progress is shared with the full Alma team.
  • Manage communications regarding planning so that the Alma team is engaged and motivated to help Alma achieve its full potential.
  • In coordination with our Business Intelligence Team, develop and maintain company-level reporting dashboards for OKRs, business KPIs and any follow-on analytics required to better understand performance issues.
  • Build presentations on behalf of the CEO for the Board, investors, and external partners.
  • Develop programming for Senior Leadership Team and Management Leadership Team offsites.

Who you are:

  • You have 5+ years of relevant job experience.
  • You have experience working with OKRs and leading company wide planning initiatives.
  • You have experience building presentations in Google Slides and Keynote.
  • You have experience working with analytics tools. Ideally experience working with Looker.
  • You have strong project management skills, are able to build relationships and drive cross-organization alignment.
  • Experience working in a startup environment is strongly preferred.
  • You have exceptional analytical skills and are ready to roll up your sleeves to solve problems in addition to helping the team develop their data fluency.
  • You are an excellent communicator with the ability to foster consistent delivery of brand voice and tone across multiple customer-facing channels.
  • You have excellent business acumen and can toggle between 10K feet and the weeds.
  • You are highly organized and able to effectively manage complicated processes and projects.
  • You are willing to travel regularly to New York, NY if not based locally to collaborate with the CEO and attend Senior Leadership Team meetings.
  • You have a deep passion for our mission and the future of mental health.

Salary Band: $145,000-$175,000
