Deliberate is a fast-growing venture-backed startup pioneering powerful data-driven diagnostics and monitoring for mental & neurological healthcare and clinical trials. We're seeking a very talented individual to join us a Chief of Staff and serve as a trusted advisor to our Founder & CEO, Marc Aafjes. You'll also work closely with other leaders in the organization, including our Chief Scientist, VP of Product and VP of Growth. and be responsible for driving fact-based strategic decision making, ensuring coordinated execution, and supporting pivotal business activities. You’ll become familiar with our individual R&D and product roadmaps and take steps to optimize cross-team planning and execution. You’ll work across teams and functions, taking ownership of operational and management tasks relating to finance, legal, and human resources.
This position is intended as a 12 - 18 month role, helping us to successfully navigate into our next growth stage and laying the organizational foundation as we scale. The aim is that the person in this role will transfer into a leadership role elsewhere in the company; it's essentially a tour of duty to accelerate your career within the company.

Strategy and Planning: Perform market research and collect competitive business intelligence to inform strategic decision-making. Facilitate internal and external discussions to discover areas of improvement for research and product strategy. Translate strategy decisions into clear action plans with various owners, track execution and work with the CEO to resolve any issues.
Financial Management & Operations: Create budgets and financial forecasts, monitor cash burn, and ensure accurate and timely reporting of financials to CEO and board. Oversee financial operations and manage outsourced financial resources.
Legal & Regulatory: Work with lawyers to ensure contracts are in place with customers, suppliers, employees, and contractors. Ensure that the business meets all regulatory requirements and drive regulatory strategy for required FDA, EMA, and other qualifications.
Human Resources: Implement recruitment, development, appraisal, compensation, and retention schemes, and generally ensure the team functions effectively.
