We are conducting a confidential search for a Chief of Staff for our client who is pioneering a new category of wearable technology that actively improves health, using touch therapy to promote stress resilience, sleep, focus, recovery, and more. As the Chief of Staff, you will report directly to the CEO.

Responsibilities

You will have the opportunity to see the inner workings of a startup, from how a company is run, how a board works, and the decisions they make, as well as the way a startup raises money, communicates to investors and achieves major milestones through coordinated cross-departmental projects.

You will get to work with leaders across the organization including R&D product, design, technology, marketing, customer service, and finance teams to ensure priorities and needs are clearly understood across the organization.

You will have the opportunity to act as a liaison between department heads and the CEO to ensure corporate goals, priorities, and resource needs are clearly understood across all parties.

You will take the lead on the CEO & Co-Founder’s top projects from company culture initiatives that support an environment where people thrive. Here you will be able to use your unique skills, aptitude, and curiosity to help build a culture rich that makes extraordinary things happen.

As the Chief of Staff your responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with the Company’s Director of Project Management to ensure corporate goals are aligned with project timelines and that project status, wins, challenges, and resource needs are clearly communicated to and addressed by the executive team
  • Working with department heads to frame up key updates, decision requests, and resource needs for the CEO and executive team
  • Act as a liaison between department heads and the CEO
  • Ensuring that key project details, status, stakeholders, and budget are up to date for executive review in the company’s project management system
  • Working closely with department heads to capture key milestones which will be communicated to board members, investors, and key stakeholders
  • Working with the CEO and department heads to develop presentations for internal company-wide meetings, as well as presentations to investors, board members, and key stakeholders
  • In collaboration with the CEO & Co-Founder, drafting content for quarterly investor updates
  • Coordinating communications with key stakeholders including investors, board members, and partners.
  • Working with the CEO and department heads to develop presentations for external and internal communications
  • Coordinating quarterly board meetings
  • Organizing quarterly all-hands meetings
  • Organizing on-site meetings for in-person working sessions
  • Organize bi-annual in-person leadership meetings
  • In coordination with the CEO and Events Teams, supporting the planning of internal company events
  • Supporting executive team and department heads in the company performance review process
  • Drafting company-wide communications from the executive team, in collaboration with the CEO
  • Spearheading people-centric projects and special projects of the CEO
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • 4-year college degree
  • Coursework in public policy, economics & finance, law, business administration, or other relevant coursework
  • At least 2 years of experience work experience in project management, communications, public relations, lobbying, or another relevant field
  • Knowledge of relevant tools including zoom, g-suite, MS Office, Jira & Confluence

Cool experience, education, and skills that will come in handing (not a requirement but real pluses)

  • MBA, MPA, or other graduate degrees, a plus
  • Knowledge of a foreign language, a plus
  • Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, and Carta, a plus
  • Having lived abroad, a plus

  • Remote, with teams located across the US and Canada.
  • The company was founded in Pennsylvania and retains a strong presence there and in the San Francisco Bay Area
