Serve as the Chief of Staff to Everytown's President while adapting strategies to meet his specific goals and ensuring the two-way flow of communications between the President and the Executive Team. The role will also help the President, COO and Executive Team of Everytown maximize efficiency, strategic growth, measurable outcomes, and the operationalization of new systems and structures as we continue to chart our path for the coming decade, 10 years after our launch.

Key Responsibilities:

Chief of Staff / President's Office Duties: Fulfill all responsibilities outlined in the Chief of Staff job description, including but not limited to:Manage the staff of the President's office, oversee scheduling, executive correspondence, and travelLiaising on behalf of the President and Chief Operating Officer with members of the Everytown team at all levels of the organizationManage internal communications, including oversight of all-staff meetingsWork with the COO and SVP of Operations to develop programs and systems to measure core success metrics used to evaluate the organization's effectiveness and progress towards organizational goalsWork with the President and COO to help manage the annual strategic planning processJoin the President and COO for monthly meetings with the Senior Vice Presidents and also join check-ins between the President and select Department heads (except in instances where the President needs to keep the meeting 1:1) Executive Team Communication: Oversee communications with the Executive Team to:Ensure awareness of priority projects. Guide Subcommittee efforts towards established goals. Monitor progress on leadership priorities. Rapid Response: Oversee rapid response campaigns, determining when to activate protocol, setting agendas for meetings, managing communication to relevant staff about decisions, and working with the President and department heads to ensure execution on any new initiatives born out of the rapid response moment. Make changes to the process to ensure effective and efficient deployment of rapid response protocolsStrategic Alignment: Collaborate with the Executive Team to:Ensure alignment on priority projects and national campaignsHelp the President and COO conduct an "audit" of some of our existing annual programs and campaigns to analyze their ROIEvaluate and adjust the organizational structure to match evolving priorities, including a review of the Pod structure, key meetings, and department retreatsLead the cross-departmental coordination of any changes to aboveOther Special Projects: Oversee projects beyond core priorities and other capacity-dependent initiatives that promote our brand, such as high-profile events

Qualifications:

Prior support of a Principle is a plusPrevious nonprofit experience a plusAbility to navigate through complex situations Possessing a Bachelor's degree is a plusAbility to work on confidential matters and utilize discretion7+ years of related experience including in the space of high level operationsA genuine passion for gun policy reform and a deep understanding about gun violence issues. Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to addressing challengesExceptional written and verbal communication skills

This is a full-time position based in New York City and reporting to Everytown's President with a dotted-line reporting to the COO. The salary range for this position is $190,000 to $215,000 per year.
