About the role

The Strategy & Business Management Intern is a critical analytical role within AIG’s Global Business Operations organization, supporting the Strategy & Business Management organization. In this role, you will apply your knowledge in strategy development, general business (financial, operational, etc.) analysis, and analytical problem-solving, to help bring some of the companies most critical ideas to life and support leadership in running a large, global organization.

  • You will work directly with the Business Management team to analyze data in support of developing strategies for improving performance through utilizing different management levers and operating capabilities.
  • You will apply your strong analytical and financial skills to help size opportunities, sharpen ideas with data and analysis, build roadmaps, model outcomes, evaluate investments, and determine economic value to AIG based on our KPIs.
  • You will rely on your data, research, and analysis skills to the team in efficiently and effectively running the Global Business Operations organization.
  • Support the delivery of critical management projects that will drive major decisions for the organization and broader company.
  • As ideas move to execution, you will work in partnership with the team to support modeled outcomes are tracked in our KPIs and analyze the real economic value being created by the work.
  • You’ll leverage your intellectual curiosity to understand economic, technological, and management trends and benchmarks in the industry that will help us define how we operate both now and into the future.
  • Support the team in incorporating ideas into management decisions and planning.

What we’re looking for

  • Expected graduation date of December 2023 – May 2024.
  • Skills and knowledge in data collection, aggregation, and analytical work including a proficiency of Excel.
  • Understanding of the quantitative and qualitative analytical skills needed to support business problem solving, decision-making, and the management of a large organization (operational, financial, customer, competitive, etc.), with familiarity in the techniques of shaping management hypotheses, testing ideas with data, and guiding decisions with rigorous analysis.
  • Knowledge in process design and improvement, org design, and operating model development.
  • Understanding of financial concepts with an ability to conduct base financial analysis and build high-quality, accurate models.
  • Ability to self-start and figure out how to get things done.

  • Passionate to build strong internal networks.
  • Blend of quantitative and qualitative skills, with the ability to be creative.
  • Proficiency of PowerPoint and Excel.
