Overview

Chief of Staff will be a key partner for the Chief Executive Officer and Founder in supporting several of his high growth businesses from executive level decision making, strategy planning, managing project executions, stakeholder management to hands-on operations and interactions with employees at the field level. The position will collaborate with other C-suite and department leaders to drive multiple key planning processes and long-term business initiatives. The scope of the position includes but is not limited to the development of key corporate materials including board presentations, executive communications, and corporate performance dashboards, and ensuring timely operationalization of executive decisions while navigating through fast-moving and ambiguous situations.

In this role, you will be responsible for

Strategic Planning and Execution

  • Work closely with the CEO and other stakeholders to develop and execute strategic plans that align with the company's vision and objectives.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives and special projects, ensuring timely delivery and successful execution.

Operational Optimization

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency across departments. Drive initiatives to improve organizational effectiveness and communication across departments.
  • Work with the ELT to establish key performance metrics and track progress against operational goals.

Communication and Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, effectively communicating company goals, initiatives, and updates. Facilitate communication flow between CEO, executive team, senior management team, and other departments, ensuring alignment and clarity.
  • Acquire, analyze, and formulate data necessary to deliver content to the CEO. Identify opportunities to improve and streamline existing business processes, decision making, meeting effectiveness, and communications.
  • Lead the management of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) meeting agendas, to ensure actions and outcomes are documented and executed in a timely fashion.

Executive Support

  • Provide high-level support to the CEO, including calendar management, meeting preparation, and strategic briefings (pre and post meetings).
  • Ensure the CEO is fully prepared for critical meetings and conversations by defining goals of key engagements, providing relevant background and context, and ensuring all supporting collateral is ready and accessible with adequate advance notice.
  • Anticipate needs and proactively address issues to optimize the CEO's productivity and effectiveness.
  • Act as an escalation point for requests for meetings and information.

Leadership and Team Development

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the organization.

What we consider critical for the role

  • B.A./B.S. degree required; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years experience in management consulting, business operations, or other highly strategic, analytical, and operational roles within a rapidly growing company.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience directing cross-functional teams and people at different levels across an organization.
  • Excellent analytical and synthesis skills; able to translate complex business issues into plain English, easily digestible for customers and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead AI projects with technical and business team members, driving to high quality insights and deliverables amidst ambiguity and tight timelines.
  • A strong orientation towards outcomes, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves to get the job done.
  • A proven ability to work and build relationships with a wide range of people, and influence cross-functionally without direct authority.
  • Previous startup experience is preferred.

Compensation is competitive and will be determined based on a combination of experience, seniority, internal, external equity, and location. For some context: this position in the US would pay between $159,000-$222,000 USD per year, depending on experience and seniority. In other regions, compensation will be adjusted for local currency and local market rates. Lily AI compensation policy is calculated with a focus on equity and where employees can thrive.
