Senior and Trusted Advisor to the Chief Commercial Officer

You will have a full understanding of key business priorities across the division and the full range of the CCO’s responsibilities including as an Exco member.

You will work alongside the Global Commercial Leadership Team and be instrumental in developing and delivering the Lloyd’s Global Commercial strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Fully immersed in the CCO’s accountabilities and key business priorities across the Function, Corporation and Market, (including ExCo), contributing to the development of strategy and vision for the unit, working closely with the Head of Strategy and wider leadership team to aid delivery of that vision and provide strategic and thoughtful advice and challenge to the CCO.

  • Deputising for the CCO as needed, you will need to:
    • Lead business and cross-functional programmes and projects that are crucial to the success of the Commercial unit.
    • Drive and role model leadership best practice; establish operating rhythm for Commercial leadership team and provide operational support to aid the smooth-running of the unit
    • Play a key role in clearly articulating Lloyd’s strategy and performance agenda to an executive and senior audience (internally and externally up to c-suite level), leading preparation of messages and presentation delivery to ratings agencies, analysts, the market and further afield
    • Provide key strategic briefings and recommendations for upcoming meetings by collecting and analysing all necessary information and liaising with relevant stakeholders
    • Plan and recommend internal and external meetings including media and speaker engagement requests, liaising with Corporate Affairs as appropriate
    • Build and maintain deep trusting relationships with Corporation senior executives and colleagues and successfully manage a broad group of stakeholders
    • Own the secretariat of the Global Leadership Team and the subsequent meetings.

Additional Responsibilities

A natural collaborator, you will forge trusting partnerships with the commercial leaders driving forward the strategy to facilitate sustainable growth by enabling clear, transparent pathways to enter and thrive in the market from the rooms that matter ensuring our Markets’ ongoing and future relevance. As a newly created position, you will have the opportunity to help shape and evolve, you will need be able to deal with ambiguity as you plan the best way as a partnership to achieve the goals of the Lloyd’s Commercial Strategy.
